🎯 Subject-Wise Strategy

Bangla
35 marks — your biggest scoring opportunity. Focus on grammar rules (karaka, sandhi, samas), literary periods, Rabindranath and Nazrul works, and proverb meanings. Complete the MP3 Bangla guide and solve all previous BCS Bangla questions.
English
35 marks — grammar is fully predictable. Master tense, voice, narration, prepositions and subject-verb agreement. For vocabulary: learn synonyms and antonyms from previous BCS papers — patterns repeat significantly year to year.
Bangladesh
30 marks — highest ROI subject. The Liberation War of 1971, Sheikh Mujib's role, the constitution articles and Bangladesh geography are consistently tested. Read the MP3 Bangladesh Affairs book cover to cover at least twice.
Math
15 marks — aim for full marks. BCS math questions are elementary level. Percentage, profit-loss, ratio, speed-distance and simple geometry. Solve 20 problems daily. Past paper questions repeat with minor variations.
Science & ICT
30 marks combined — smart preparation pays off. Focus on biology (cell, DNA, diseases), physics (light, electricity) and ICT (internet fundamentals, MS Office shortcuts). These are highly factual and easy to memorise.

📅 90-Day BCS Prelim Preparation Plan

Days 1–30: Foundation Reading
Complete one subject per week in reading mode. Do not attempt MCQs yet. Focus on understanding Bangladesh Affairs and Bangla thoroughly — these two subjects decide the cut-off.
Days 31–60: MCQ Practice Phase
Solve 100 MCQs daily from the question bank. Cover all subjects in rotation. Track your accuracy per subject. Subjects below 60% accuracy get double daily practice time.
Days 61–80: Previous Papers Phase
Complete all BCS preliminary papers from 38th BCS to the latest. Solve under timed conditions — 200 questions in 120 minutes. Review every wrong answer before the next session.
Days 81–90: Mock Exam Sprint
Two full mock exams per week. Focus on accuracy over speed — negative marking means a wrong answer costs you 0.5 marks. Revise weak spots daily. Stop learning new material.
Negative Marking Alert: BCS Preliminary deducts 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. A candidate who attempts 180 questions and gets 150 right scores 150−(30×0.5) = 135. A candidate who attempts 160 and gets all right scores 160. Accuracy beats volume every time.

✅ High Scorers Do This

  • Study 8+ hours daily with breaks
  • Solve previous BCS papers repeatedly
  • Keep an error notebook for every wrong answer
  • Join a serious offline or online study group
  • Revise Bangladesh Affairs daily

❌ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Guessing randomly — costs 0.5 per wrong
  • Ignoring English or Math sections
  • Reading too many books instead of solving MCQs
  • Starting serious prep only 30 days before
  • Not tracking subject-wise accuracy
